"What a child can do today with assistance, she will be able to do by herself tomorrow."

Intervention Teaching

An intervention teacher plays a key role in assisting students who are experiencing difficulties in the classroom. Rooted in one-to-one and small group teaching, I will provide expertise and intentional support to students who demonstrate behavioural, social and educational challenges. Teaching smaller groups of children, and building a close working relationship with them, has an enormous impact on their educational development and can provide children who experience challenges in the classroom with the support and scaffolding that they need in order to progress.

Pupil Premium Support

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. As you are aware, it is designed to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities perform better, and close the gap between them and their peers. As part of my support within your school, I will:

  • deliver maths and English provision for Pupil Premium pupils and for those who require Curriculum Support to ensure that the Pupil Premium funding reaches the groups of pupils for whom it is intended and that it makes a significant impact on their education;

  • provide clear and concise planning, delivery and assessment, with direction from the school or independently, for Pupil Premium and Curriculum Support provision;

  • arrange additional educational support to improve the progress and raise the achievement of these pupils in English and maths;

  • work closely with class teachers and their pupils with whom I will be working alongside; and

  • liaise with other staff responsible for interventions and pupil progress.

I have a broad experience of working with small groups of Pupil Premium learners. I can work closely alongside the planning of the teachers within your school or, if you prefer, bring my own planning to further the achievements of these children.
